Pilates for Climbers

Pilates is one of the safest, most challenging, and effective training tools for climbers. Pilates aids in preventing many climbing injuries and is excellent for rehabilitation of orthopedic issues. Pilates will help you maintain and enhance your physical and mental condition, leading to better climbing technique and increased performance. Benefits of Pilates for climbers include creating balanced muscles that are long and lean rather than short and bulky, which equalizes strength and flexibility all throughout the body; focusing on core strength, which will help you with all of your climbing techniques; increasing awareness of and correcting of alignment and muscle imbalances; enhancing a mind-body connection and awareness of breath, which is crucial in climbing as it is both a mental and physical challenge; increasing coordination, control, focus, balance, strength, and flexibility.

Class is held Thursdays, July 1, 8, 15 and 22. Cost is $32 for all 4 classes, or $14 per class for the drop-in rate. Meets at Old Town Yoga, 237 Jefferson in Old Town Fort Collins. For more information, including specific class time, call (970) 222-2777.
