Contra Dancing - Friends of Traditional Dance

Friends of Traditional Dance (FoTD) is dedicated to the preservation and promotion of old-time and traditional dance forms through community dances. Contra dancing is a form of American folk dancing, usually danced to live music of Celtic origin. Contra dancing is a very easy form of dance to learn, the music is lively and the dancing is aerobic. Each dance is taught by the caller, who cues the dancers through the moves. Tonight's band is Eric Levine & Rodney Sauer.

Dances are held the first and third Saturday each month, 8:00pm - 11:00pm. Cost is $8 ($4 for students). Free lessons are at 7:00pm before the dance. Meet at Club Tico in City Park. For more information, visit the website or call (970) 493-8277.
