Larimer County Works Program/TANF

Overview

Larimer County Works and TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, formerly AFDC) is designed to assist low-income families in moving from monthly cash assistance into the workplace. An application is required, and the program is limited to families with dependent children or parents of an unborn child. Income guidelines are based on the number of family members in the home. Documentation of any income, bank accounts, investments and vehicles are used to see if a family qualifies. Everyone 18 years of age or older needs to be assessed for barriers to employment and to sign a contract to focus on becoming employed.
