At Family Care Center we offer a full range of counseling services for individuals (children, adolescents, and adults), couples, and families. Our therapists provide individual sessions for those dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, mood disorders, and co-occurring substance use. We also offer family therapy and marriage counseling. We have certified DBT therapists who provide group therapy for adults, middle school, and high school-aged populations. And we have certified play therapists to treat children as young as three years old.
We offer a full spectrum of counseling, designed to support you in navigating life's challenges and help you find long-term solutions to your mental health issues. Our staff are trained in a variety of therapeutic techniques, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT), and psychodynamic therapy.
We also offer medication management, as well as transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and ketamine infusions for those suffering with major depression.
Medication Management—The effectiveness of prescribed medications for mental health concerns depends on how well they are being managed. Our medical professionals will help you take control of your medication management, identifying the right medication for your condition as well as the proper dosage and delivery method. Our team will tailor your medications to your specific needs to achieve the best results.
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy is a relatively new form of non-invasive brain stimulation designed to treat symptoms of major depression. TMS involves sending a pulse of magnetic energy to stimulate nerve cells in areas of the brain that control mood. More specifically, an electromagnetic coil is placed against the scalp, close to the forehead, and sends pulses of magnetic energy—similar to those produced by an MRI machine—to targeted nerve cells in the brain. This simple, three-minute treatment does not require any medication or sedation with anesthesia. TMS therapy has been proven to be quite effective for the treatment of the following conditions: major depressive disorder, Alzheimer’s disease, chronic pain, autism, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), Parkinson’s disease, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), smoking cessation, and multiple sclerosis. While it isn’t the first form of treatment for these conditions, TMS may be recommended for patients who have been unable to achieve significant results from using antidepressant medications and psychotherapy.
