I am in private practice at Cascade Therapy and Consultation. I believe in the healing power of relationships and I feel privileged that, in my role as a therapist, I have the opportunity to provide one of those relationships, as well as to strengthen many others.
I work with a variety of clients, particularly adults and families of young children. Individuals and families choose to seek therapy for a variety of reasons. You may be seeking improved relationships, self-growth and empowerment, or support with challenging life experiences for yourself or your child.
My educational background is in developmental psychology and family therapy. This means that, when working with clients, I take a "birds-eye view" of the situation, trying to understand how relationships, situations, and stressors all impact how clients are feeling and functioning. In working with clients, my first step is to build a trusting and respectful relationship. With children, this often includes using play as a way to connect and learn about how they view the world. When working with adults, this typically involves discussing the impact of current and past stressors, identifying areas of strength, and building resources for self-care and emotional regulation.
In my free time, I enjoy trail running, hiking, travel, photography, reading, and spending time with loved ones and my two cats. I am licensed as a marriage and family therapist in Colorado (MFT.0001917). I am endorsed by the Colorado Association of Infant Mental Health as an Infant Mental Health Specialist and I am a professional member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy.
I am currently working very part-time on Tuesdays and Thursdays only.
