Shirk Counseling, LLC

My practice focuses on adults that are experiencing difficulties, stressors in their life, grief/loss, mental health concerns, or addictions issues and would like to make positive changes and/or need support. Life is complicated and often difficult. We all make mistakes, have struggles, and may even regret things from our past. Some of us have experienced abuse, mental health issues, addiction, or dysfunctional relationships. It is important for me to honor your past, listen to your story, and respect your beliefs. I am committed to providing a safe and non-judgmental environment that fosters self-exploration and collaboration, encourages growth, restores wholeness, provides hope and peace.

Have you had difficulty with a life transition, such as attending college, starting your career, becoming a parent, or losing a loved one? Have you experienced relationship difficulties, illness, been overwhelmed, sad, anxious, or suffered from addiction? Have you faced infertility, pregnancy difficulties, or postpartum depression? If you are an adult that would like to make changes, discuss concerns, or need support, I would like to assist you in your journey.

I have several years of experience as a client-centered licensed professional counselor using evidenced-based practices. These therapeutic approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), EMDR, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), and expressive art. I also love to use humor during sessions. It would be a privilege to meet you and assist you with starting your healing journey. Please email, text, or call to schedule a session. I look forward to talking with you!

I accept insurance through Headway and SonderMind.
