Laissa Eschiletti Prati, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist with a master’s degree in social and institutional psychology and doctorate in psychology from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul in Porto Alegre, Brazil. She was a psychology resident at the Mental Research Institute in Palo Alto, Calif. and a research intern at Università Degli Studi di Bergamo in Italy.
In Brazil, she coordinated psychological services in academic settings working with adults, couples, adolescents, and families. Additionally, she has conducted various groups and worked in health-related settings. Dr. Prati has published articles in the areas of family therapy, couples, domestic violence, HIV/AIDS, the elderly, and drug abuse. She bases her therapeutic practice on a systemic approach, positive psychology, and narrative therapy.
