My clinic is truly a behavioral sleep clinic. CBT-I (cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia) has become the first line and gold standard treatment for chronic insomnia, no longer medications, as we know that people habituate to them and medications become less effective over time. Research shows that CBT-I is effective for about 60% of people who use it and these gains are maintained at six months/year rechecks; this demonstrates that CBT-I is a much more powerful intervention and more long lasting than medication alone.
I am an expert in CBT-I. In our clinic we work with adults and help about 85% of people to find a statistically significant and functional difference in their day-to-day lives with their sleep.
