COUNSELING SERVICES FOR OLDER ADULTS/SENIORS
Nichole Laliberte, LCSW

Helping to improve mood, retain or regain independence, and increase sense of self. Offering a full range of psychotherapy services including individual, couples, and family counseling. Seniors face similar challenges to other adults in terms of mood and anxiety, but have additional factors that contribute to imbalance as they age including changing attitudes of society, multiple and varied medical issues, and retirement and loss of role. Processing through these issues with a professional can balance mood, increase sense of empowerment, and improve quality of life.

Senior-Specific Issues:

  • Depression, anxiety, adjustment to changes in life
  • Grief, loss, and aging issues
  • Dealing with family dynamics and retaining independence
  • Interconnection of medical and psychological concerns
  • Changing lifestyle to adapt to medical problems
  • Increasing focus on health/wellness to maintain quality of life
  • Adjustment to retirement, loss of sense of purpose

Medicare accepted as payment for services. In-home or in-facility services (assisted or independent living). Coordination of care with medical providers and POAs as needed. My practice is currently full, but I do keep a wait list.
