Welcome! The quality of the relationship between the therapist and the client continues to be the number one reason that people get better in therapy. With this in mind, I place a high priority on providing a safe, non-judgmental, and welcoming place for clients to explore the concerns that bring them into my office.
I offer 20+ years of experience in this business of helping people heal from the stuff that life throws at them. I have extensive experience in treating individuals with various concerns, including mood and anxiety disorders, trauma and PTSD, grief and loss, adjustment stressors, age-related stressors, and substance use concerns.
Here are some of the beliefs I operate by as a therapist:
- If we’re lucky, we continue to grow, learn, and develop until we die. Engaging in therapy is one way that we can learn, grow, and develop as humans.
- Your problems are important because they are yours. You are the only one living your life.
- Learning to like and accept ourselves is one of the most challenging and rewarding goals we can set for ourselves. Therapy helps keep us on this path.
- Therapists don’t “fix” things. We’re not mechanics. And you’re not broken.
- Skills are learned and practiced. The more we practice living skillfully, the better we get. Anyone is capable of learning and practicing skills in order to live more skillfully... anyone!
- Healing is always possible. It doesn’t matter how much time has gone by, how many wounds we carry, or how deep. It is always possible to heal.
- “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” ~ Lao Tzu
Please get in touch if you are ready to take the first step in this direction. I look forward to meeting you.
