Kindred Counseling, LLC

My name is Whitney and I am a Colorado native, born and raised right here in beautiful Fort Collins. This town just has my heart and I have never been able to move. (It also helps that all of my family is right here as well.) Growing up, I developed a sense of community and am always looking for ways to connect and give back. I am an extrovert through and through and can often be found chatting with new people and making new connections.

To be honest, it took awhile to realize that I wanted to work with people. I originally went to school for photography, but I was never really happy with what I was doing. After taking some time off from school and experiencing life, I discovered my passion for helping people. I went back to school and received both my undergraduate and graduate degrees in social work at Colorado State, and I am proud to be a CSU Ram!

Through my work with people, I have discovered that most of us have negative beliefs about ourselves that are not serving us, but we continue to feed into these messages. We need to learn to overcome our own negative self-talk by fostering strong, healthy connections with people we feel safe with. We all want to feel good in life, and this looks different for each person. I work by meeting you where you are, as therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process. I want you to be able to grow through tears and through laughter. This is your journey of self-discovery and I am just the tour guide.
