I am excited to help those who seek services to understand that the world they “know” was created by imperfect people, with the ideas they had, to create a place for themselves to feel safe, loved, and happy. Right, wrong, or otherwise, no one is perfect, and each person has the same right to decide and create their own reality. It is important to discover what your unique needs are for you to feel safe, loved, and happy.
I provide a safe place for my clients to gain knowledge, understanding, and skills, like armor, to be empowered and courageous to be the unique person they are and to feel proud and confident despite judgment, opinion, or criticism. I like to think of therapy as building mental health immunity.
I realized in my years of practice that no single approach will work for everyone; therefore, I tailor my approach based on each person’s needs, symptoms, and personality. I believe it is imperative to meet my clients where they are on their journey to their mental health healing and awareness. I hold fast to that old saying “it’s not fair to judge a book by its cover.” Therefore, I welcome clients to share their story with a human being who will listen, hear your concerns, and join you in working toward self-improvement, acceptance, and well-being.
I like to use quotes in my practice because I feel they come from people who have experiences that are universal, who are human and feel like you and me, and want to help others feel hopeful, know they are not alone, find peace, acceptance, and humor to help them on their journey. For instance, one of my favorite quotes is “Use the crap from your past for the fertilizer for your future,” author unknown. I have experienced life in such a way that there is no limit on compassion and empathy for others. We are all a work in progress, each day is a gift and is another chance to make today better than yesterday.
