I work with individuals and couples in intense distress, as well as families impacted by serious mental illness, such as psychosis. I also specialize in working with clients undergoing significant life transitions or repeating familiar patterns they would like to change, such as falling into unhealthy relationship dynamics.
In the initial phase of therapy, I help people clarify what they want to be different in their lives. We'll explore what gets in the way and what changes might be helpful for us to focus on in therapy in a trauma-informed and inclusive manner.
For some clients, the focus is their emotional life; for others, their thought process; and sometimes, the lingering effects of past experiences. For some clients, the quickest way to change is to gain insight into the root causes of what troubles them; for others, it's learning new communication skills. We'll work to figure out what's right for you. Together, my clients and I seek to create change quickly in a way that is sustainable in the long run.
